Power of mind- Golden Key to quit smoking

Your mind is the most powerful ‘designed machine’ that may redirect and reconstruct your personality upon any grounds. If you say you want to stop smoking, you can! Dr Garrey Smalley in his book Change Your Heart, ‘Change Your Life: How Changing What You Believe Will Give You the Great Life You've Always Wanted ‘ elaborated on how your mind can help you to work out things you desired the most. Which means, the chances for you to make a giant big change in your life are beforehand! It is all up to you!

The question you might ask than is…how? What are the rules and plans that I need to work on to transform everything that has been my ‘bread and butter’ all this while? Have no worry at all because I’m going to share with you a few simple tips to modify and reconstruct your belief system to be more positive towards refraining yourself from smoking.

1.Choose to quit NOW!!
Don’t get nervous first. Get the picture that life is about making choices. Like it or not, you still have to do it. Smart people will always choose the path of success. It doesn’t count if it may work or not in future. But risking your life for an undoubtedly ‘failure’ path that will indisputably bring catastrophe is unwise indeed. Have you ever watch the movie ‘The Great Debaters’ directed by Denzel Washington that says, ‘The time for change… is always and always RIGHT NOW!’. I remind you again that this is all in you mind. According to Prof Albert Allis, a psychologist, human beings are victims of their own irrational beliefs. So do not be one.

2.Change your ‘relationship’ with Mr. Smoking

Something that ruins you, and worse, KILL YOU is nothing more than an ultimate foe that you have to vanish away a.s.a.p. This thought is highly important especially for ‘Heavy’ smokers who have made in convenience the presence of cigarettes as their company of sorrow, frustration, depression and etc. The first step of changing your mindset towards ‘quit smoking’ will never complete if you still favor the convenience and presence of cigarettes as your daily habit.

3. Acquire knowledge and support

To complete the total reverse of your post-smoker mindset, you need to acquire as much knowledge as possible about smoking and its danger. Perhaps you have done it so many times and felt overloaded with information about it, and still it doesn’t change anything. But believe me, as you find more and more about how to quit smoking and the danger that it may caused to your body, you will reinforce your determination to quit and before you knew it, you have already stopped on ease. To enhance you efforts, get support from friends, family or maybe you can join a forum on the net to share thoughts and get information from other smokers who have experienced the same situation.
